At EA's Conference, Crytek CEO, Cevat Yerli confirmed that Crysis 2 was in development at that this time round it's heading onto the PC aswell as the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

This time using CryEngine 3 which makes use of each systems unique strength to fully take advantage of the avaliable hardware.

As I mentioned in the previous news post, Crytek are packing a new map going by the name Ruins. If you can't wait for the next patch to Crysis Wars they've provided a nice little flythrough which nicely revels the new map.

Another Crysis Wars patch is almost upon us and Crytek have posted a little teaser of what's to come in the new patch. Amongst all the things you'd expect from a patch they are also included a new map called Ruin.

They have included a few screenshots of the new map over on the Crymod site.

If you hadn't already given Crysis Wars a once around, Crytek are planning another week-long trial of Crysis Wars. You can expect more solid details on Monday.


It's nearly time for another trial period! This is the perfect opportunity to get your friends and family involved in some great online battles in Crysis Wars. You'll get full access to both LAN and Online play and you can now even use the editor with the trial client, for free!

Crytek have released an extended trailer of the new CryEngine3 running on both the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360.

The graphics look great, especially the forest/waterfall scene and I'm looking forward to seeing what Crytek do with the new engine.

Another monthly update is upon us and Crytek fills us in with what has been happening. They give a little information on them purchasing Free Radical, now known as Crytek UK and Crysis MAXIMUM EDITION.

Welcome to the “Crysis Monthly Update #10", the monthly report for our world-wide community. Crysis Warhead Wins more awards!
Crytek has picked up yet more awards this time in the form of VE3D and VES awards. Check out the information on them below.



VES Award

just one night before the Oscars - the Visual Effects Society held its now seventh annual awards ceremony for outstanding work in TV and movies in Los Angeles. Crysis Warhead was honoured for its outstanding real time visuals and took home one of the much-coveted awards. The game thus directly succeeded to last year's winner “Halo 3”.

VE 3D Awards

Free Radical becomes Crytek UK[/COLOR]
We're really pleased to announce that Free Radical Design have joined the ranks of Crytek and shall now be known as Crytek UK. We'd like to welcome the guys to the team and hope for them to settle in well to the Crytek family. For all those of you who are speculating on what Crytek UK will be working on, that's still an unknown so you'll have to keep guessing. The official press release is below:
